HURRICANE - Hop White was the first player eliminated during Tuesday's West Virginia Open Coca-Cola Shootout.

On Wednesday, White was the leader in the clubhouse with a 4- under-par 67, taking a surprising two-stroke lead over five others in the opening round of the 77th edition of the Open at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. The second round begins today with a cut looming for Friday's final round. (See Page 2B for scores and pairings.)
