Summary


ALTHOUGH the "Medal of Honor" series helped kick-start the World War II trend in first-person shooters, the last version, "Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault," was a dismal failure. As a result, the developers have made many changes to the latest incarnation, "Medal of Honor: European Assault," in hopes of resurrecting the franchise.

One of the most noticeable differences is the elimination of linear missions in favor of free-roaming combat. All levels have main objectives that must be met in order to move on to the next area. Since there is more than one path through each level, these goals do not have to be accomplished in any specific order. In addition, there are optional secondary objectives that unlock bonus material when completed.
