A lawyer has filed motions to have a state senator removed as trustee of a $1 million trust established to benefit a Lewisburg man with spina bifida and other health issues, contending the senator has charged exorbitant fees to manage the trust over the past seven years.

In the complaint on behalf of trust beneficiary John Kay Dawkins, Charleston attorney Steve Thompson contends that Sen. Jesse Guills, R-Greenbrier, has charged "extraordinary ... and unjustifiable fees and expenses" to manage the trust since 2002.
