The West Virginia Supreme Court denied a set of appeals by Bayer Corp. on Wednesday in which the chemical giant alleged that the state tax commissioner had over-assessed its property in 2006 and 2007.
In its appeals, which were consolidated by the high court, Bayer argued that the tax commissioner failed to consider "economic obsolescence" and reduced production at its South Charleston and Institute facilities.
