WEYERS CAVE, Va. - An ancient oak under which Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson and his weary Confederate troops reportedly gathered for prayer in June 1862 has been felled by high winds.
The disease-weakened white oak known as Jackson's Prayer Tree came down Friday southeast of Harrisonburg, between Weyers Cave and Grottoes.See the full content of this document
