Kanawha State Forest Trail Users Give Back: ; Volunteers Build Half-Mile Link for Trails

Summary


Volunteer labor supplied by a group of Kanawha State Forest trail users has reclaimed an abandoned trail in the 9,300-acre preserve and connected it to an active trail, making possible a new loop hike of nearly two miles.

An amalgamation of 13 Kanawha State Forest Foundation members, Kanawha Trail Club members, master naturalists, Boy Scouts and others recently spent a day using leaf blowers, rakes, chainsaws and clippers to build a new half-mile trail linking Rattlesnake Trail to the recently reclaimed Crabapple Trail.
