Summary
When I first picked up the book "My Appalachia," I figured it would be just like any other book that I've read, but I was very wrong. It was exciting and interesting, and it took me back in time as I was reading it. Sidney Saylor Farr, the author, captures everything brilliantly.
The book is a memoir about Farr's life growing up in the mountains of Southeastern Kentucky. She was the oldest of 10 children and had many responsibilities, even as young as age 3. She had to take care of younger siblings, milk the cows and even had to quit school at age 12 to take care of her mother and younger siblings.See the full content of this document
