The state Public Service Commission has established a "working group" to recommend ways to ensure reliable electric service to customers across West Virginia.

The commission's directive comes amid an investigation into power outages that affected 237,000 customers in West Virginia after a winter storm on Dec. 18 and 19. Some Southern West Virginia homes went without electricity for two weeks.
