Summary
Many years ago, the Rev. Jim Lewis started Charleston's Manna Meal, which still feeds hundreds of down-and-out people per day, including the elderly and children. When he headed St. John's Episcopal Church on Quarrier Street, he helped establish Covenant House, which still helps the vulnerable people Jesus told his followers to serve. Later, he headed Charleston's Coalition for the Homeless.
Lewis also takes positions that ruffle feathers. If he thinks something is unjust, he stirs the pot. He has not always done so gently, and he has not always been diplomatic, so he has had his share of adversaries.See the full content of this document
