A Red House man was indicted last week for the second time in the shooting death of a woman and the attempted murder of her fiance.
Jesse J. Cossin, 21, was indicted by a Putnam County grand jury on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the February 2009 shooting of Angela Dawn Casto, 20, and Nick Hanshaw, 24, in their home in Red House.Cossin was indicted on the same charges in November 2009, and pleaded not guilty in December before a Putnam County judge. It was not immediately clear why he was indicted a second time.The night of the shooting, Cossin allegedly knocked on Casto and Hanshaw's door, then opened fire, hitting Casto in the chest and Hanshaw in the leg. Casto was pronounced dead at the scene.The Putnam grand jury also indicted an Indianapolis trucker who left the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of an Eleanor teenager.Breazeale W.
