The U.S. Postal Service has announced a new holiday service and a contest for children writing letters to Santa Claus during December.
The Charleston Main Post Office will sponsor a mobile postal unit that will visit Charleston area assisted living homes. The mobile unit will sell various Christmas stamps and answer questions on packaging and shipping parcels. The mobile unit will also be able to accept packages for mailing that are 10 pounds or less or in flat- rate packaging.
