Orville Thomas "Tom" Orr, who founded one of Charleston's most successful real estate companies, Old Colony, died Tuesday. He was 96.
Orr was born in Kentucky and went from high school to a job with the Kresge department store in Cincinnati during the Great Depression, he said in a 1989 Gazette interview.
