Nurses Vote Out Union at Weirton Hospital

WEIRTON - Registered nurses at Weirton Medical Center have voted to decertify their union by a margin of less than 10 votes.

If certified by the National Labor Relations Board, the 154-145 vote means the nurses would no longer be represented by Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union, which held a one-day strike earlier this fall, then ratified a new contract last month.
