MORGANTOWN - West Virginia University's $4 million lawsuit against ex-football coach Rich Rodriguez is headed for mediation, with the goal of resolving the dispute by Aug. 1.

But the order by Monongalia County Circuit Court Judge Robert Stone is a standard part of a scheduling order, and WVU attorney Jeff Wakefield said Thursday he believes mediation is unlikely to help.
