SAN JOSE, Calif. - Tyson Amir-Mustafa has gone where few rappers have. He's appeared on "Oprah."

OK, it wasn't for his skills on the mic, and it wasn't a live appearance on the show's set. It was actually for his skills in and around jail. The 26-year-old San Jose emcee is not an inmate, though. He's a math teacher at three facilities in San Francisco, where he espouses powerful, hope-filled messages.
