Marshall athletic director Bob "Kayo" Marcum has announced the hiring of John Sutherland as the Herd's new associate athletic director and executive director of the Big Green Foundation.

Sutherland brings nearly 30 years of fund-raising and coaching experience. After stints with Notre Dame, Arkansas and New Mexico State, he began serving as an assistant coach with the Marshall women's basketball team in 2000. Sutherland spearheaded many successful fund-raising and marketing projects, including the establishment of the Locker Room Club, which raises over $100,000 annually for the women's basketball program.
