Leonard Troy "L.T." Anderson, an iconoclastic Charleston newspaper columnist for half a century, died Tuesday in Philadelphia after cancer surgery. He was 83.

He was widely known throughout West Virginia for his pithy columns that appeared for three decades in The Charleston Gazette and two decades in the Charleston Daily Mail.
