Summary


FINALLY, the United States has stopped executing juveniles. The Supreme Court was sharply divided in its 5-4 decision Monday. Nevertheless, the landmark ruling ends the barbaric practice in 19 states.

America has long been criticized for executing defendants who were juveniles - legally children - when their crimes were committed. Iran, Pakistan, China and Saudi Arabia still allow the practice. In this country, only Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia have put juveniles to death within the last 10 years.
