Energy Independence: ; America Can Find Peace, Prosperity Through Alternative Fuels

Summary


THE evidence is now crystal clear. Our country must have independence from foreign oil interests who are clearly increasing their influence on our foreign policy, our military deployments, our economy and most important our very way of life. The world's escalating dependence on oil, which is in finite and limited supply, will eventually lead to desperate efforts by those nations dependent on oil to fuel their economies and way of life. Foremost among these nations is the United States. A case can be made that the current pre-emptive military actions are motivated by U.S. oil interests.

The question is, how do we become energy independent? The answer is straightforward and simple: We must build an alternative fuels industry based on raw materials, many of which are replenishable and exist in abundance within our borders. We have the technological know-how and the raw materials. The other critical ingredient is dynamic leadership at the presidential level that will take charge and make an alternative fuels industry happen.
