Summary


The CW started its fall season off strong with the new hit "90210," which was picked up for a full season earlier this week. Fox also started on solid ground with "Fringe," its first newbie.

CBS, the third of the networks to debut new shows, apparently didn't get the memo about putting its best new programming first. Instead, it started with the sitcom "Worst Week" and drama "The Mentalist" on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. (It also premiered "Gary Unmarried" on Wednesday - competing with NBC's new "Knight Rider" - but those came after the gazz's press time.)
