THE networks are giving us a little break from the new stuff this week. The only new show premiering is CBS' sitcom "How to Be a Gentleman" at 8:30 p.m. today.

The odd couple comedy, based on John Bridges' book, stars Kevin Dillon ("Entourage") as a macho trainer teaching magazine columnist David Hornsby ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") how to be more manly. Dave Foley ("NewsRadio"), Mary Lynn Rajskub ("24") and Rhys Darby ("The Flight of the Concords") are in the supporting cast.

The Idiot Box: ; 'Up All Night' the Standout of New Sitcoms so Far

As with all the new shows I watch, I'll give it a few episodes, but honestly, the four-minute extended preview just looks awful. It has visits to strip clubs, jokes about being a pansy, trips to the gym for testosterone-soaked behavior and, of course, the pursuit of the out-of-your-league neighbor across the hall.
