Historical Gathering: ; Elk River Festival to Dive Into Area's Past

Summary


Life along the Elk River, from Native American times through 18th- century European settlement, will be explored with living history demonstrations, an archeological presentation, a nature hike and traditional Appalachian music during Sutton's Elk River Gathering on June 11.

"We want to share the history and beauty of this area, and we thought this would be a good way to do it," said Kevin Carpenter, who helped organize the event.
