Joseph J. Ellis, the Pulitzer Prize-winning historian of the Founding Fathers, told a packed house at the state Cultural Center Thursday evening that the last 10 to 15 years have seen a renewed interest in the country's founders.

Ellis, who has written biographies of George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, said, "there is an audience out there for serious history."
