HUNTINGTON - Hurricane's Zach Pate lived up to his family name Friday night.

The 5-foot-6, 150-pound sophomore running made his first start of the season, giving the Redskins a spark by rushing for 118 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns in a 35-14 victory over Spring Valley. A crowd of about 1,200 attended the Class AAA Mountain State Athletic Conference matchup of state-ranked squads.
