CHICAGO - David Ross hit two of Cincinnati's seven homers Thursday, a long-ball barrage that included Ken Griffey Jr.'s 605th, and the Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 12-7 to avoid a three-game sweep.

Edwin Encarnacion, Brandon Phillips, Adam Dunn and Joey Votto also homered on a muggy day at Wrigley Field with the wind blowing out at 12 mph. The Reds tied their season high for homers in a game - they also had seven against the Cubs at Great American Ball Park on May 7.
