MORGANTOWN - Had Curtis Feigt been born and raised anywhere in the vicinity of any of his current teammates - be it in West Virginia, Florida, New Jersey or anywhere else - it's hard to say how his football career might have turned out. Or even if it had continued at all.

It's a familiar story, but one worth repeating. A promising young player leaves home with visions of becoming a football star, maybe to a prep school tucked away in the mountains. He's there for a month or a week or even a day before reality sets in. It could be homesickness or a fit of self-awareness. Suddenly he's swimming in doubt, so before he even has time to think about it he's in his car, driving home.

That was Feigt, soon after he arrived at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania as a 17-year-old junior. That he is now, two years later, a freshman defensive end at West Virginia is a testament to two things:
