WASHINGTON - The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation awarded 180 Fellowships on Thursday, and Wil Haygood, national reporter for The Washington Post and a former Charleston Gazette copy editor and reporter, was one of the recipients.

The award will support Haygood's project about the confirmation of Thurgood Marshall to the U.S. Supreme Court.
