Basketball Hall of Fame Recognizes Elks Free Throw Contest

Summary

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks inked a partnership agreement on April 22, recognizing the Elks Free Throw Contest. The partnership will give the Elks a home for their recognition of champions in their annual "Hoop Shoot Contest" for boys and girls ages 8 thru 13.

The Elks' exhibit will be displayed at Center Court in the new Hall of Fame opened last year in Springfield, Mass. Names of all national champions will be enshrined on a plaque and the current winners' names will be displayed on an electronic message board, as well as the Basketball Hall of Fame Web site (www.hoophall.com). The Web site gets more than 1 million hits a year while the Hall has 400,000 visitors a year.
