FORT WORTH, Texas - A few years ago, the World Bible Translation Center hired a Chinese scientist to help translate the Bible into easy-to-read Chinese.

The man was an avowed atheist when he began the translation. Before he was finished, he asked Dale Randolph, the director of the North Richland Hills, Texas-based organization, to baptize him in a hotel bathtub in Thailand.
