Clap Your Hands Say Yeah were the indie darlings of 2005. The band's surprise success - thanks to its blog-posted, self-titled debut album - brought acclaim from hipster youth across America. The key to the band's almost instantaneous success was not really its word-of-blog distribution or "keeping it indie," as some claimed, but simply having good songs with fresh sounds and clever songwriting.

Clap Your Hands' first album set the bar ridiculously high, though, and anything short of an exact replication would fail to compare to it. With its second album, "Some Loud Thunder," the band was forced to realize that.
