State employee and teachers associations are determining legal strategies for a potential challenge of a Public Employees Insurance Agency Finance Board vote last week to eliminate retiree health insurance benefits for all state and public school employees hired after Jan. 1, 2010.

Judy Hale, president of the West Virginia Federation of Teachers, said Monday that attorney Jeff Blaydes is researching legal options to overturn the vote taken Thursday during an emergency meeting of the PEIA Finance Board.
