Summary


Grim new findings by cancer researchers show that intensive use of tanning beds can double or even quadruple the risk of deadly melanoma skin tumors.

Across America, millions of high school girls visit tanning salons to gain a "healthy" body tone in their prom dresses and bikinis. An American Cancer Society survey found that one-third of 17-year-old girls use tanning beds. Many overdose on ultraviolet radiation through excessive sessions. Some even become addicted to soaking up artificial sunshine.
