1. A man walks among nearly 3,000 flags set up as part of a remembrance on 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks Sunday, in St. Louis. 2. Robert Peraza, who lost his son Robert David Peraza in the attacks at the World Trade Center, pauses at his sons name at the North Pool of the 9/11 Memorial before the 10th anniversary ceremony at the site, Sunday, in New York.

3. High school students pose for a photo by a damaged replica of the Statue of Liberty in Ishinomaki, northeastern Japan, Sunday. As the world commemorated the 10th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks, Sunday was doubly significant for Japan. It marked six months since the massive earthquake and tsunami on March 11, a date now seared in the national consciousness.
