Summary


Oscar nominations were announced last week, and this year, I find myself reacting differently than in years past. Instead of the typical passion that I feel, I find myself apathetic.

Normally, the Academy Awards, particularly the announcement of the nominees, bring me anticipation and excitement matched by few other things. For cinephiles such as myself, the Oscars are the equivalent of the Super Bowl or the World Series: We pick our favorites, eagerly debate their chances of victory and throw our whole-hearted support behind them.
