RIPLEY - About 300 Century Aluminum workers met with representatives from several state agencies, a few trucking companies and some technical colleges Thursday, but none could guarantee what workers wanted most - a job.

Employment options are limited and the competition for what is out there is fierce, said Brian Burdette, a former Century Aluminum worker who attended the meeting at the Best Western McCoy's Inn in Ripley.
