'Adventureland' has Its Ups and Downs
REVIEW Adventureland HH1/2 RATING: R (strong language, drug use, sexual references) DIRECTOR: Greg Mottola CAST: Jesse Eisenberg, Ryan Reynolds, Kristen Stewart, Martin Starr, Paige Howard, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader On the surface, "Adventureland," director Greg Mottola's follow- up to his hit, "Superbad," looks like another good-time, raunchy romp, and it certainly has healthy amounts of partying and pranks to go along with its gross-out gags.

Peter and the Wolf and The Magic Toyshop The River City Youth Ballet and the West Virginia Youth Symphony WHEN: 7 p.m. Tuesday WHERE: Clay Center TICKETS: $11 to $21 INFO: 304-561-3570 When composer Sergei Prokofiev wrote "Peter and the Wolf" in 1936 to teach children about the instruments in the orchestra, perhaps he didn't envision its performance by young people.

* "THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT": H1/2 MC, PPSC. It offers more in the way of atmosphere than genuine scares, even as it plays up its supposedly based-on-a-true-story origins, "Amityville Horror"- style. There's nothing subtle or original here. Rated PG-13. * "RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN": HH1/2 MC, PPSC. This is the first kids' film in ages to have action beats that measure up to Hollywood's grownup action fare. The air goes out of the balloon, though, when the kids reveal their "mission." Rated PG.

Election Ads Bill Passed by House
State legislators are trying to clarify which groups that run election advertisements must file campaign finance reports, but some say the rules unfairly target certain people. Under current law, candidates and political action committees must file campaign finance reports. In recent years, West Virginia has tried to make other groups that run election ads do the same, and to ban corporations from targeting specific candidates in advertisements.
