Charleston Gazette
When you enter the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City, you feel a sense of nostalgia. Considering the playhouse was home to the premieres of the Ziegfield Follies, "Peter Pan," and "The Sound of Music," you experience the sensation of being in the midst of something magical. Coincidentally, the Lunt-Fontanne currently is home to "Disney's The Little Mermaid," which is indeed magical to say the least. As the brilliant overture is finished, a massive sea vessel descends from high above the ...

As a child, your answer might have ranged from fireman, policeman, teacher or doctor to singer or actor. This is because of the impact these jobs had on you as a child. As you grow up, more people, hobbies, classes, friends, and family members impact your life, making you see new opportunities in your future. When middle school, high school, and college students were aske...

A Different Meaning for Valentine's Day
When my sister and I were younger, we loved Valentine's Day. Waking up to the smell of sweet chocolate beneath our noses and going to school to receive small, paper Mickey Mouse cards are memories I'll never forget. Regardless of how old Sissy and I were, we always celebrated Valentine's Day. I always thought of Valentine's Day as a day when I could "pig out" on chocolate without my parents scolding me; however, I view it in a much different perspective now.

The Idiot Box: ; What's Tv's Future? Depends On Whom You Ask
It seems that the professionals who follow TV can't quite make up their minds on where the medium is headed. The Feb. 16 TV Guide featured a glowing cover spread on "the future of TV," highlighting all the nifty things we might see happen with television within the next decade. However, an article in March's The Atlantic was rather disparaging of TV's future - especially when it comes to network TV.
From Homeroom to Homework, Sharing a School with a Sibling Can Have Pros and Cons
There are many pros and cons of having a sibling - younger or older. Some siblings get along great and others fight. Does that vary from school to home? Is it good or bad to have a sibling attending the same school? Younger siblings almost inevitably experience one thing that the older ones miss - comparison. Not many can go through four years of high school without encountering a teacher whose opinions of them have been shaped somehow by their older brother or sister.

The Jonas Brothers Phenomenon: ; a Daughter's-Eye View

The Jonas Brothers Phenomenon: ; a Dad's-Eye View of the Fixation
The Jonas Brothers are taking over my house. You might think I'm exaggerating to make a point. You would be wrong.
* "CORALINE 3D": HHHH MC, PPSC. Dark, magical and endlessly inventive, it's the latest stop-motion animated marvel from Henry Selick ("Nightmare Before Christmas"). The voice cast is simply perfect and the third act's chases and monstrous menace are staged with style and wit, but it's the pacing and visuals that make this 3D gem sparkle. Rated PG. * "GRAN TORINO": HHH1/2 MC. Clint Eastwood's latest directorial offering is a compelling study of anger and violence and the guilt and shame that s...
