Symphony to Present 'How the West Was Won' Saturday
Cowboys and cowgirls of all ages are invited to saddle up Saturday, April 12, for a Western-themed morning of music at the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences in downtown Charleston. Starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Maestro Grant Cooper, WVSO artistic director and conductor, and the orchestra will present "How the West Was Won." The program will feature a roundup of music inspired by the old American West.
Democrats to Convene April 12 in Chesapeake
Kanawha County Democrat Executive Committee Chairman Norris Light has announced that the Kanawha County Democratic Convention will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Chesapeake Community Center Annex on MacCorkle Avenue in Chesapeake. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the annex.
Hawks Nest Hosts Spring Bluegrass Dinner Theater April 19
Bluegrass music is Hawks Nest State Park's Saturday, April 19 dinner theater offering, featuring Lost Cannon Bluegrass Band, based out of Fayetteville. The band takes its name from local legend of the confederate cannon of Cotton Hill. The band members have more than 40 years of musical experience and play traditional bluegrass, with a blend of old-time, new and some gospel thrown into the mix.
