Adopt a Pet: ; Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association Shelter:
Meet Mabel (ref. 7129), a 2-year-old, female, mixed-breed dog, and Roxie (ref. 130), a 1-year-old, spayed, female cat. Mabel came to the animal shelter as a stray and is looking for a loving home. Roxie is trained to use a litter box and would make a great pet.

Wvhca to Honor Long-Term Care Providers This Evening
The West Virginia Health Care Association will recognize several long-term care employees for outstanding performance and commitment to long-term care at the WVHCA Annual Awards Banquet on Monday, May 7, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Charleston. Nominations are submitted by co-workers and/or the management team to the WVHCA for consideration. The nominations are judged by an Awards Committee who determines the winner based on criteria provided by the WVHCA.

First Lady, W.Va. Business Volunteer Council Kick Off 'Year of Volunteering'
First Lady Gayle Manchin, Sam Cipoletti of Verizon and several West Virginia business leaders and volunteers launched the start of a new campaign, the "Year to Volunteer," during ceremonies April 17 at the State Capitol. The "Year to Volunteer" is the brainchild of the First Lady and the West Virginia Business Volunteer Council, an organization established under the auspices of the West Virginia Commission for National and Community Service, of which the First Lady serves as a commissioner.
