Meet Sophie (ref. 9020), a 2-year-old female shepherd-mix dog, and Mert (ref. 78), a 12-week-old female kitten. Sophie weighs between 80 and 90 pounds and has a nice personality, according to animal shelter officials. Mert is a sweet kitten that needs a loving home.
Charleston Figure Skating Club to Host Competition Dec. 1
The Charleston Figure Skating Club's synchronized skating teams have attended the Southern Synchro Challenge in locations throughout the South for the past four years. This year, they were asked to host the event. The Southern Synchro Challenge 2007 synchronized figure skating competition will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, at the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena. Fourteen teams, consisting of 167 skaters from Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia, will be competing.
