Mhs All-Class Reunion Slated for Oct. 14

Greyhounds will gather in mid-October to renew acquaintances and rekindle their school spirit in Montgomery. An all-class reunion of Montgomery High School graduates is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14 in the Bragg Gymnasium of the old Montgomery High building.

CAPITOL MEETING The Capitol Building Commission will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, in the Green Room on the lower level of the Cultural Center in the State Capitol Complex, Charleston. The agenda will include an update on the Governor's Mansion renovations, a request from the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety to renovate office space in the Capitol and a report on cleaning the Capitol's exterior. Author Roster Released for Book Festival

The sixth annual West Virginia Book Festival will be held Oct. 21 and 22 at the Charleston Civic Center. Festival planners have announced that dozens of authors will attend the festival to present programs or readings. Among them are bestselling authors Bobbie Ann Mason, Jennifer Chiaverini, James P. Moore Jr., Cornelius Eady, George Ella Lyon and Christopher and Jeanette Canyon.

Tech College to Conduct Personal Enrichment Classes for Public

The Community and Technical College at West Virginia University Institute of Technology will provide a series of personal enrichment classes in coming weeks on the Montgomery campus. These classes are non-credit and are open to the public.

According to owner Tammy Stamper, a registered pharmacist, naturopath and West Virginia's only QRA-certified practitioner, "I assess various accupressure points on the body. When a point is out of balance, nutrients and/or detoxification products are used to rebalance the point."

Adopt a Pet: ; Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association Shelter:

Meet Nubs (ref. 2374), a 2-year-old, male Sheltie-mix, and Remington (ref. 607), an 8-week-old, male kitten. Nubs is "a nice little guy," according to animal shelter officials. He's up-to-date on shots, but would need to be neutered before getting adopted. Remington came to the shelter as a stray and is looking for a loving home.

Wvsu Foundation Dinner Fundraiser Surpasses Goal

The West Virginia State University Foundation Dinner fundraiser surpassed the goal of $750,000. The event was held at the Embassy Suites this spring and was well attended by alumni, businesses and friends of the university.
