Wvu Tech to Offer June Academic Camp for Students: ; Session Limited to 80 Students with an Interest in Science or Math

cthomas@cnpapers.com For one week this summer, June 20 through June 26, area high students can experience studying, learning, and socializing in a college campus environment, along with faculty and staff of West Virginia University Institute of Technology and other students/ peers who share their interests, as part of Camp STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

'Kiss a Pig' Event Slated During February, March

The American Diabetes Association and the Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club are sponsoring the annual "Kiss A Pig" fund-raising event to raise money for diabetes research and Lions Club charities and projects. The event kicked off Feb. 17 at Charleston Town Center Mall. The KAP Kiss-Off will start at noon March 23, which is Diabetes Alert Day, near Kaufmann's in the Town Center.

On Dec. 9, the American Automobile Association certified Cottman Transmission on Charleston's West Side as an approved auto repair center. Meet Dixon (ref. 1500), a 3-year-old male mixed-breed dog, and Roz (ref. 994), a 5-year-old female, shorthaired cat. Dixon is a nice dog that needs a loving home. With just a little grooming, he would be a beautiful dog. Roz came to the shelter as a stray. She has a nice personality and would make an excellent pet.

FAT TUESDAY FEAST The Knights of Columbus Council 3232 is sponsoring a Mardi Gras celebration with an all-you-can-eat buffet including Cajun-style dishes on Tuesday, Feb. 24 starting at 5 p.m. It will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church Educational Building at 707 Second Ave. in Montgomery. Prices for the buffet are $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Also, there will be games for kids, and beads, balloons, masks, etc. as well as bingo for adults, starting at 4 p.m.
